About this role
Our CDL drivers are paramount to our customers receiving exceptional customer service through their ability to prioritize, ensure order accuracy, and provide prompt delivery. Our CDL drivers provide deliveries both locally and regionally to other store locations or customers. Overnight stays may be required. To ensure success as a CDL driver, you should pay close attention to order details and accuracy to avoid both customer dissatisfaction and company losses.
Requirements:
Duties/Responsibilities
Perform safety checks of brakes, steering column, lights and mirrors prior to each leg of journey to ensure road readiness
Follow and maintain loading protocols, using chains and binders to secure cargo and re-checking their stability throughout trips
Inspect trailers before and after loading, paying attention to status of air lines and jack positions and adjusting them as necessary
Visit weigh stations before and after packing to ensure that loads meet state safety regulations, making alterations to loads when required by law
Contribute to company data by honestly recording times of delivery and hours worked
Assist in loading and unloading cargo, maintaining product quality throughout conveyance
Adhere to traffic safety regulations at all times, exercise caution in treacherous circumstances and report unsafe vehicle or road conditions to supervisors and highway authorities
Use GPS to stay informed of route information, and communicate changes of route with supervisors and colleagues
Assist with any other duties as assigned or needed
Experience and Education
High school diploma or GED required. Two years of experience working as a CDL driver with no legal or safety incidents on record.
Skills, Licensing, and Certifications
Class A CDL license
Must be able to pass random and pre-employment drug tests
Medical examination certificate
Forklift certification a plus
Ability to lift 75 pounds safely
Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly
Extensive knowledge of applicable truck driving rules and regulations
Compensation details: 22-22 Hourly Wage
