The Abeel Firm PLLC is hiring a Divorce & Family Law Litigation Attorney to manage contested family law matters from intake through resolution.


We are looking for a confident, thoughtful litigator who knows how to move cases forward, prepare thoroughly, advocate effectively in court, and guide clients through difficult transitions with steady judgment.

Compensation:

$135,000 - $150,000 base salary depending on experience, plus performance-based bonus tied to productivity and results


Responsibilities:
  • Handle contested divorce and family law matters through final resolution
  • Develop case strategy and execute proactively with strong attention to deadlines, details, and outcomes
  • Represent clients in hearings, conferences, motion practice, depositions, negotiations, and other litigation proceedings
  • Draft motions, pleadings, discovery, settlement proposals, and other legal documents with precision and clarity
  • Counsel clients with a balance of empathy, realism, and sound strategic judgment
  • Maintain organized files, strong documentation, and clear communication throughout the life of each matter
  • Collaborate with leadership and team members to strengthen case strategy, workflow, and client experience

Qualifications:
  • Active New York law license
  • Minimum 3-4 years of divorce and family law litigation experience; 4-8 years preferred
  • Experience handling contested family law cases with substantial independence
  • Strong courtroom presence and confidence in hearings, motion practice, negotiations, and depositions
  • Excellent writing, drafting, research, and strategic thinking
  • Organized, proactive, and able to manage a full caseload with urgency and professionalism
  • Professional, steady under pressure, and capable of advocating effectively without creating unnecessary conflict
  • A lawyer who values preparation, credibility, professionalism, and sound litigation strategy
